Zurich will no longer be providing Statutory Disability coverage in New York.

Zurich will no longer be providing Statutory Disability coverage in New York. As a result, we are taking steps to exit from this market segment. Set forth below you will find details about our phased approach to cancelling in-force business and ceasing to offer new business.

New Business

For new business, Zurich ceased accepting new Statutory Disability submissions effective November 1, 2012.

In-Force Business for New York DBL for Employers with 50 or more Employees

For New York DBL policies, for Employers with 50 or more Employees, where the anniversary date occurs from January 1, 2013 through March 1, 2013, we will cancel each such policy on April 1, 2013, unless we receive written instructions earlier from the producer of record that replacement coverage has been secured.

For New York DBL policies, for Employers with 50 or more Employees, where the anniversary date occurs from April 1, 2013 and thereafter, we will cancel each such policy on the earlier of the anniversary date or July 1, 2013, unless we receive written instructions earlier from the producer of record that replacement coverage has been secured.

In-Force Business for New York DBL for Employers with less than 50 Employees

For New York DBL policies, for Employers with less than 50 Employees, most of these policies have a January anniversary date. Those will be cancelled effective January 1, 2014, unless we receive written instructions earlier from the producer of record that replacement coverage has been secured.
