Vibhu R. Sharma named Zurich North America Commercial chief financial officer

Schaumburg, Ill., July 7, 2008 – Zurich, one of the world’s largest property-casualty insurance companies, today named Vibhu R. Sharma chief financial officer for its North America Commercial business division.

“Vibhu brings strategic thinking, leadership and staff development qualities to his position, as well as strong business acumen and substantial experience interacting with audit committees and boards of directors,” said Mike Foley, CEO of Zurich North America Commercial. “His knowledge will enable our Finance unit to build on the momentum that has been created over the past few years.”

Prior to joining Zurich, Sharma served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for reinsurance broker John B. Collins Associates, Inc., in Minneapolis. He also worked for 17 years at CPA firm KPMG LLP, which included 12 years at its Minneapolis office, three years in Kansas City and two years in Dallas.

Sharma earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
